About
I have been creating websites for 7 years in Durham, NC. My emphasis is on the usability of my clients' websites ~ the ease of use based on elegance and clarity of the interaction design ~ and how to achieve that with design and content.
Creating usable and functional interfaces, especially computer interfaces, has always been a part of my education and career. Prior to moving to North Carolina, I designed and tested software interfaces at companies such as IBM, Adobe and Interval Research in Silicon Valley.
My educational focus was on cognitive psychology, studying how people learn, understand, remember and organize information, and computer science, both of which give me the background to design and implement web pages.
I also teach others how to create their own web pages in a Web Page Design course at Durham Technical Community College.
I received my bachelors degree with honors from the University of New Mexico in Psychology (minors in Computer Science and Communications). I also have an MA degree in Experimental Psychology from New Mexico State University and attended the University of California at Santa Cruz towards a doctorate in cognitive psychology (ABD).
